The main character, Smith, is a promiscuous person and, by his own definition, sexually "undefined". Most of the characters in Kaboom fall into the same category. Smith ostensibly studies film, but in practice he devotes himself to partying and ends up in bed with pretty much everyone he meets during the film, if you don't count those guys wearing animal masks.
Araki has made pure eye candy.
Kaboom refers to a looming apocalypse in the pseudo-plot, but in practice the film constantly skips from plot-like to who-was-doing-what-in-the-sauna-and-snapping-the-star-? scenes. And that's okay, because "weird is the new normal," as Kaboom proclaims.
