Bond is tasked with stopping SPECTRE's leader, Ernst Stavro Blofeld (played by Max von Sydow), from carrying out his plan. Blofeld intends to start a global conflict in order to steal two nuclear missiles and use them as weapons.
Bond must follow clues across the world, encountering dangerous enemies and allies along the way. He is assisted by MI6 agent Paula Caplan (played by Barbara Carrera) and Felix Leiter (played by Bernie Casey), a CIA liaison for the US Federal Bureau of Investigation.
Never Say Never Again features the typical James Bond elements of a thriller, including dangerous fight scenes, thrilling chase scenes, and romance. Bond races against time to save the world and stop Blofeld's plot.
The film culminates in a thrilling final showdown, where Bond must confront his nemesis and ensure that the world is not in danger. In the end, he proves himself to be a steadfast hero who will never back down from saving the world.
"Never Say Never Again" differs from other James Bond films in that it is not part of the official Bond film series, but is based on Ian Fleming's novel "Thunderball", which was previously made into an official Bond film in 1965.
