The story begins when the Allies are planning a major offensive into the German-occupied Netherlands. The goal is to capture several strategically important bridges and quickly advance towards the Rhine River. In this way, they hope to reach the heart of Germany and quickly defeat it.
The Allies send a group of soldiers representing different nationalities to capture important bridges. However, the operation proves to be very difficult and dangerous. The soldiers face stiff resistance from the Germans and have to fight heavy battles.
As the fighting progresses, the Allies are faced with numerous challenges, such as the loss of communications and air attacks. The operation ultimately proves to be too ambitious and does not achieve the desired results. Many soldiers lose their lives and the operation ends in failure.
