An International Undersea Observation Program submarine is attacked by a massive creature, and now the submarine and its crew are sunk in the deepest part of the Pacific Ocean. With time running out, Chinese oceanographer Dr. Zhang (Winston Chao) hires former deep-sea rescue diver Jonas Taylor (Jason Statham) against the wishes of his daughter Suyin (Li Bingbing). Suyin and Taylor must join forces to save the crew and the ocean from an unstoppable threat: a 65-foot shark known as the Megalodon. It was thought to be extinct, but it is very much alive... and hungry.
Jonas encountered the same terrifying creature five years ago, but no one believed him. Now, together with Suyin, Taylor must overcome his fear and risk his life to return to the depths of the sea... and once again face the mightiest and largest predator of all time.
