Out of Africa
This romantic film, which won seven Oscars, tells the story of Danish author Karen Blixen's life in Africa at the turn of the century. Having entered into a marriage of convenience, Karen is initially confused by the dark continent, but eventually loses her heart to it. She runs a plantation, educates the natives, survives the war and falls in love with a civilized Englishman, played by an aging surfer-like Robert Redford.
