When Mika comes home, losing her job would be the worst thing that could happen. When Eila receives a letter of dismissal in the Christmas mail, everything collapses. Eila is a film tinged with Jarmo Lampela's characteristic warm humor.
It is a story about a kind and adaptable person becoming brave. Eila refuses to be a victim and decides to fight for her self-esteem and finally earns the respect of her loved ones and colleagues. Tove Idström's script is based on true events a few years ago, when a group of cleaners sued the state for illegal dismissals.
