Bond's first mission, assigned by MI6's Director "M" (Judi Dench), takes him through Madagascar and the Bahamas to Montenegro. There, Bond must confront Le Chiffre, a banker disgraced by terrorists who is trying to recover his fortune in a high-stakes poker game at the Casino Royale.
Vesper Lynd, a Treasury accountant, is assigned to watch over Bond and ensure that the funds allocated to complete the mission are not exceeded. However, their views on the means to complete the mission do not always coincide. However, Le Chiffre's cruel plan forces James and Vesper to rely on each other, and Bond learns the most important thing in his career: Trust no one.
