American Gangster

A film based on true events about the drug lord Frank Lucas (Denzel Washington) of the early 1970s. After the death of his mentor and boss, he invents a new way to bring heroin into the United States from Southeast Asia and soon becomes the country's largest drug importer.

Meanwhile, Richie Roberts (Russell Crowe), a rare honest detective in the corrupt New York police force, is assigned to establish a new narcotics unit. A clash between the men is inevitable.
