"Die Hard" is set on Christmas Eve, when New York City police officer John McClane (Bruce Willis) travels to Los Angeles to meet his wife Holly (Bonnie Bedelia) at the Nakatomi Corporation skyscraper. However, the festive atmosphere quickly turns into a nightmare when the building is taken over by a group of terrorists led by Hans Gruber (Alan Rickman).
McClane is trapped in the building alone and is forced into improvised battles with the terrorists. He tries to save the lives of the hostages while thwarting the terrorists' plans for grand theft and political gain. McClane uses his wit, intelligence and courage to survive and try to stop Gruber and his gang.
The film features intense action scenes, suspense and witty dialogue between McClane and Gruber. Bruce Willis gives an iconic performance as John McClane, a tough and witty cop who is not afraid to take action. Alan Rickman plays the charismatic and intelligent villain Hans Gruber.
"Die Hard - Over My Dead Body" quickly rose to popularity and was recognized as an action film that combines suspense, humor and fast-paced scenes.
