COBRA VERDE:
Fransisco Manoel da Silva is a successful Brazilian cattle rancher in the early 19th century. Da Silva becomes a renegade, thief and outlaw after a murder, who is better known as Cobra Verde. However, the owner of a large sugar plantation does not know that da Silva is a fugitive from the law, and hires him to lead his 600 slaves. FITZCARRALDO:
At the end of the 19th century, ice factory owner B.S. Fitzcarraldo dreams of new challenges and the winds of development on the coast of South America. Fitzcarraldo is a passionate opera lover and gets the idea of ??building an opera house deep in the Amazon rainforest, far from the coast and the settlements of civilization. He thinks that the jungle's river network would provide a great route for people to the uncharted depths, but covering the distances would require constant steamboat traffic. Fitcarraldo's plan is considered insane by everyone and he becomes obsessed with implementing it. Inspired by his megalomaniacal plan, Fitcarraldo sets off on a steamboat deep into the jungle to make his dream come true.
NOSFERATU - Lord of the Night:
Young real estate agent Jonathan Harker receives a surprising assignment, and must travel to distant Transylvania to meet the mysterious Count Dracula. However, the distant and reclusive Dracula's interest soon turns away from business after seeing a picture of Jonathan's beautiful wife, Lucy. Jonathan does not know that Dracula is a vampire, a living dead - a nosferatu who lives only by drinking the blood of the living. Wanting Lucy for his own, Dracula sets off for Jonathan's hometown of Virna, bringing plague and death with him.
WOYZECK - Tortured:
For the well-meaning but timid and withdrawn soldier, Johan Franz Woyzeck, the army has become a personal hell. He is constantly treated inhumanly by his company captain commander. The doctor, in turn, uses Woyzeck for his own devious tests. In addition, Woyzeck's wife is infatuated with the handsome and successful major. Every individual should have the right to equal treatment and respect compared to others, as well as freedom of their own will and opinion. How long will it take before the tortured Woyzeck's measure is full? Woyzeck is based on an unfinished work by the German playwright Georg Büchner (1813 - 1837).
25. HOUR - Klaus Kinski:
Eight years after the death of the actor Klaus Kinski (1926-1991), known for his talent, temperament and aggression, the renowned German visionary director Werner Herzog made a documentary honoring the memory of his worst friend and dearest enemy, Mein Liebster Feind - Klaus Kinski. The director met Kinski as a young man in the 1950s, when he lived in the same apartment with the actor who suffered from hysterical outbursts of rage. Later, the two made five highly acclaimed and award-winning films together (Aguirre, Nosferatu, Woyzeck, Fitzcarraldo and Cobra Verde).
