A mutant fetus is born. Dr. Helmer comes under intense scrutiny after a botched surgery that leaves a patient brain dead, and begins experimenting with the dark arts to fend off those who would try to end his career. The hypochondriac Mrs. Drusse is eventually medically rendered incapacitated when she is hit by an ambulance.
