A group of teenagers in a small Colorado town are terrified when one of their friends dies in a freak prank on the Fourth of July. The teens swear to remain silent about their involvement in the accident and promise to take their secret to the grave. However, their friendship is put to the test. The teens drift further apart until the following Independence Day, when they begin receiving threatening messages that suggest that someone else may know what really happened that fateful summer night. Will the teens be able to uncover the identity of their threat, or will each of them be forced to make good on their promise prematurely?
