The film begins with a mother, Evelyn Mercer (played by Fionnula Flanagan), who is robbed and assaulted in her own home. She dies from her injuries, which shocks her four adopted sons: Bobby (played by Mark Wahlberg), Angelo (played by Tyrese Gibson), Jeremiah (played by André Benjamin), and Jack (played by Garrett Hedlund).
The brothers reunite after the murder and decide to take their own way to solve their mother's death. Their investigation soon reveals that there is much more to their mother's murder than first meets the eye. They encounter corrupt police, gang warfare, and dark secrets from the past.
Four brothers take the law into their own hands and set out to avenge their mother's death. They also cross paths with Victor Sweet (played by Chiwetel Ejiofor), a local gangster who is involved in the murder and has strong connections to the city's dark side.
"Four Brothers" is an adrenaline-pumping action thriller in which brothers join forces to achieve justice and protect their family. The film deals with the meaning of brotherhood, the meaning of family and revenge, and offers exciting and violent action throughout the story.
