Rööperi tells the story of the eventful and daring journey of its main characters Tompa and Krisu, as well as Mustalais-Kari, Arska, Korpu, Ukki and many other tough guys who belong to a diverse group of villains, who end up from poverty through crime to becoming an honorable citizen, to a castle - or to an early grave. The dark side of the law is exposed from the perspective of the district's own police officer, Koistinen.
