Will Hunting is a capable but conflicted young man who works as a janitor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. One day, he demonstrates his incredible talent for solving mathematical problems, which attracts the attention of Professor Gerald Lambeau.
Lambeau offers Will the opportunity to work in mathematics and develop his potential. However, Will suffers from past traumas and mental obstacles that prevent him from accepting himself and reaching his full potential.
The story progresses when Will meets therapist Sean Maguire, played by Robin Williams. Sean understands Will's background and helps him deal with his past wounds and find his own identity. A deep trust and understanding develops between them.
At the same time, Will also begins to fall in love with Lambeau's assistant Skylar, which challenges him to step out of his comfort zone and create meaningful relationships.
The film follows Will's journey in confronting himself and his future. He is forced to make difficult choices and face his own fears and insecurities. Ultimately, Will must decide what he wants from life and how he can free himself from the shackles of his past.
