The story begins in 1963, when President Kennedy is assassinated in Dallas, Texas. Garrison begins to suspect that the official investigation and the official story of the assassination are not true. He believes that the case involves a conspiracy that reaches high into the political and military system.
Garrison begins his own investigation and gathers a group of assistants around him. They study the evidence, interview witnesses, and try to piece together the whole picture of the events. Garrison believes that various political forces, including the CIA, the FBI, and even high-ranking military officials, are involved in the conspiracy.
The film explores various theories of the assassination, including the grass-blade theory, the single-shooter theory, and the political motives behind it. Garrison faces resistance and threats as he tries to uncover the truth. He also has to consider risking his own safety and the well-being of his family in pursuit of the truth.
