World-renowned Mexican artist Frida Kahlo and her eventful, tumultuous and uncompromising life have inspired this film that tells the story of one extraordinary woman. The film chronicles Frida’s complex and intense relationship with her husband/teacher Diego Riviera; it also reveals Frida’s scandalous erotic relationships with various women and her secret relationship with Leon Trotsky.
Directed by JULIE TAYMORE, the film has captivated audiences around the world and won two Oscars and a Golden Globe. SALMA HAYEK (“Traffic”) gives her most stunning performance yet as Frida and also co-produced the film.
