Martin is a young, tough-guy extremist in the IRA fringe. He is persuaded to become a source of information for the British government after he witnesses the brutal execution of a young soldier. His contact and mentor Fergus tries his best to protect Martin, but he lives in constant danger, knowing that being caught would mean torture and death. The information Martin provides saves many lives until he is finally exposed. The British authorities abandon Martin and leave him to face certain death. However, Fergus refuses to accept the situation and breaks all the rules to save Martin.
