Tarzan's peace is shattered when he is called back to the Congo jungle. He sets off on a journey together with Jane, and they are accompanied by Belgian trader and former soldier Leon Rom, who is acting on a secret plan. Rom's goal is to capture Tarzan and hand him over to the jungle's captors for compensation.
In the Congo jungle, Tarzan is confronted with both the traumas of his past and the dangerous inhabitants of the jungle. He realizes that he still has connections and duties to the animals and people of the jungle, and he must fight for them and to save himself and Jane.
