The Three Wise Men nominee for the Three Jussi Award is Mika Kaurismäki's film, a different Christmas story, whose genesis is extraordinary. The film is structured in the style of John Cassavetes through and based on characters. The three main actors have each created their own characters, but during filming they only knew their own story, not how their stories would intersect.
The trio was awarded the Best Actor award at the Tallinn Dark Nights Film Festival, and the film swept the Monterrey International Film Festival in Mexico; it was awarded both the Grand Jury Prize, the Cabrito de Plata, and the Audience Award.
