In August 1949, Life magazine asked if Jackson Pollock was America's greatest living artist. Pollock became, as it were, the country's first celebrity artist. This film about Pollock is Ed Harris's first directorial effort, and it tells the story of an eccentric artist who was said to be a recluse. He was a public figure no one knew.
