Germany is falling apart, and the defeat of the Third Reich seems inevitable. Hitler, along with his closest associates, including his wife Eva Braun (Juliane Köhler) and the Goebbels family (Ulrich Matthes and Corinna Harfouch), has retreated to his bunker in central Berlin, where they await their fate.
Allied forces are rapidly approaching the gates of Berlin, and Hitler's precarious condition worsens as the war progresses. The film paints a picture of a depressed and delusional Hitler, who fears conspiracies and hates the Jews blindly.
At the same time, however, a picture of a hitherto unknown Hitler is also emerging, who also has humane sides.
