The Way We Were

Originally published as a novel by Arthur Laurents, the love story tells the story of a left-wing activist woman and an athletic officer, which begins in the late 1930s, when the two were still in the throes of their studies. The couple meets again during World War II and ends up getting married. However, the union does not last, partly due to the communist persecution that began in the 1950s. The film's music won an Oscar.
