A pathological liar, Billy (Keaton), who also has a penchant for violence, finds himself on the loose with friends he met in group therapy in New York City: the neat freak Henry (Christopher Lloyd), the former advertising executive Joack (Peter Boyle) who now believes he is Christ, and the near-catatonic couch potato Albert (Stephen Furst).
The ingredients for a hilarious farce are all in place as the gang finds themselves thrust from one desperate situation to another while trying to rescue their missing doctor from the clutches of crooked cops.
