Since 1993, nearly 400 women have disappeared without a trace in the small town of Juárez, near the Mexican-American border. An ambitious journalist, Lauren (Jennifer Lopez), sets out to investigate in order to impress the editor-in-chief (Martin Sheen).
The authorities clearly don't want to investigate, but Lauren, with the help of her ex-boyfriend Diaz (Antonio Banderas), continues to dig. A tangle of corruption and silence looms ahead that will not be untied...
