When Jesse James and Cole Young are denied a pardon by the state, they decide to commit one last big bank robbery. Cole is shot, but not fatally. After he recovers, Jesse James and his companions travel hundreds of miles to Northfield to rob the largest bank in Minnesota. Still blissfully unaware of the revocation of the pardon, Cole and his gang follow them to prevent the robbery, but on the way, news of the revocation of the pardon reaches them too.
