In 43 AD, the Roman Emperor Claudius sends his army to conquer Britain. The Celtic forces are besieged and their king Prasutagus does not put up much resistance. Most of the country is declared subject to the Roman Empire. When Claudius dies eleven years later, his bloodthirsty adopted son, Nero, takes power.
