Tobin Frost (Denzel Washington) is a former CIA agent turned traitor who sold state secrets to the highest bidder. When he unexpectedly shows up at the U.S. Consulate in Cape Town, he is arrested and taken to a safe house for questioning.
The safe house is supposed to be a fully equipped place to hold high-risk prisoners. Matt Weston (Ryan Reynolds) is a young guard at the safe house who dreams of being able to work in the field and do real intelligence work. However, he has been forced to work in a routine job at the safe house.
When the safe house learns of an internal betrayal, it comes under attack. The only witness to the attack is Weston, who decides to rescue Frost and escape with him. However, it soon becomes clear that Weston has a hard time knowing who to trust and who are the traitors.
They must outwit enemy pursuit groups and uncover the truth about the betrayal in order to expose the corruption and save their lives. On their journey, they encounter violence, chases and betrayals, and must use all their skills to survive.
"Safe House" is a fast-paced and exciting film that combines action, conspiracy and elements of a spy thriller. It tells the story of two men who find themselves in a desperate situation and must rely on each other to survive in a dangerous world.
