"Patriot" is a 2000 war drama film set during the American Revolution. The film follows the story of Benjamin Martin (played by Mel Gibson), an anti-war veteran and family man.

The story begins in 1776, during the American Revolution. Benjamin Martin wants to stay out of the conflict and protect his family, but when his son Gabriel (played by Heath Ledger) joins the Revolutionary Army, Benjamin is forced to return to the battlefield.
